How to Use RA Adjustable Spray Guns
Sprayable Coatings
RA Adjustable Spray Guns can be used to spray many different products ranging from:
- Undercoating (wax, water or bitumen based)
- Cavity Coating (wax based)
- Stone Chip Protection (rubber, water or urethane based)
- Bed liners and others
- Waterborne products should be cleaned with water only
- Type of cleaner will vary depending on the type of product sprayed with the gun
(consult product manufacturer)
Adjustable Nozzle
All models are equipped with an adjustable nozzle allowing the user to control the product flow and to spray different textures.
By adjusting the nozzle outwards, the product flow will increase, thereby producing a thicker coat. Please note that the gun will not work if the nozzle is not installed.

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Always clean the gun immediately after finishing your application.
- Do not let the product cure inside the gun.
- Follow product manufacturer’s warnings for spraying flammable and/or dangerous products.
- Do not smoke and never spray in vicinity of open flames.
- Atomized vapors are extremely flammable.
- Dispose of cleaning solvents according to local regulations.
- ALWAYS: Ensure that the breather-port (the small hole in the collar) remains unclogged at all times.
- CLEANING: Fill a clean, empty product canister with a cup of water / solvent and spray through the gun.
- ! WARNING: Use appropriate container to collect sprayed solvent and dispose of following local regulations.
Sprayed solvent is extremely flammable. Be aware of sparks and open flames. - Remove the nozzle assembly with a 22mm wrench and use a short hair brush to remove any product from the gun body, paying special attention to the area around the air inlet.
Wand Installation
- Unscrew the nozzle first, then screw the wands into the gun
- Make sure not to screw the wand in too far as that will decrease or stop the product flow
Some high viscosity products may be too thick to spray through wands. If product is hard to spray through the wand, shortening the wand might help. Depending on the viscosity of the sprayed product, a thinner might have to be mixed in (consult product manufacturer for appropriate thinning agent).
Rustproofing wand (RA1 RPW) is designed to atomize cavity coating in hollow beams, cavities and inside doors. The wand has 6 small holes in the tip. Not suitable for spraying under coatings.
Undercoating wand (RA1 UCW) is helpful in the application of undercoating in hard to reach places i.e. behind mufflers and around exhaust pipes. The wand has 1 larger hole in the tip.
ATTENTION: The product flow will increase/ decrease depending on how far the wand is screwed into the gun. When the wand is screwed in all the way into the gun the product flow will stop completely and only air will be released. This is a great way to clean the wand after completion of the application.
Air Regulator Installation
- Using a thread sealing PTFE plumber's tape or a liquid thread sealant screw the female opening of the regulator onto the male air supply connector of the spray gun.
- Set the air regulator at the desired level.
- Test the setting on a piece of cardboard before starting your application.
